Garfield Heights School District has been getting quite a bit of media attention in the past few weeks! On November 26 & 27, the district hosted visitors from Partners for Breakfast in the Classroom (PBIC), the organization that provided grant funding to the district to make Breakfast in the Classroom happen. PBIC is a collaborative effort between national education and nutrition organizations that provide support to school districts for their breakfast operations.
Most recently, Garfield Heights partnered with the American Dairy Association Mideast and the Cleveland Browns to have a Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60) kick off event at the Middle School! Chomps, the Browns mascot, even made an appearance to hand out Protein Packed Bistro Boxes and take selfies with the kids. To conclude the event, students were asked to sign up for the FUTP 60 Wellness Team at the Middle School.
Our very own Maureen Pisanick was even featured on Garfield Heights City Schools Facebook page to discuss all of the efforts we are making in the food service department throughout the district. The Garfield Garden salad bar and Breakfast in the Classroom were the main features of this video spotlight! Keep an eye out for more Garfield Heights media highlights in the future!
